Vodacom's network named 'Best in Test'

P3 Dec 2016 OverallVodacom has the best overall network for voice and data in SA

Vodacom’s mobile phone network has been named “Best in Test” by the international leader in mobile performance testing, P3 Communications, based in Germany. The latest set of results show that Vodacom has the best overall network experience for voice and data in South Africa.

P3 dispatched a team of independent network analysts to travel the country’s biggest metropolitan cities, towns and roads to assess the network performance of all the country’s network operators. All tests were done from 11 November to 12 December 2016. 


P3 Dec 2016 voice services P3 Communications ranked the local mobile network operators across a range of voice and data performance metric measured in the major cities, towns and roads. Vodacom was placed top in all six categories and achieved the overall highest score, earning the coveted “Best in Test” certificate from P3 Communications.

Vodacom’s 2G network now covers 99.9% of the country’s population, with 3G at 99.2% and 4G at 70%. This is the widest of the country’s Mobile Network Operators and underpins the company’s commitment to making broadband even more accessible for South Africans.
