Vodacom data promotion gives customers more value this Festive Season
Vodacom contract customers are in for huge savings this summer with three different promotions available to them.
Customers signing any new 24 month data contract will receive the first three months' subscription free;
In addition, Broadband Standard MyMeg500 24 month contracts signed in December 2011 will be available for only R99 (incl. VAT) per month; and
Vodacom gives 20GB + 20GB for R499 to contract subscribers at an effective rate of 1.2c per MB.
Chris Ross, Managing Executive for Commercial Development at Vodacom says, "Over the festive season most people have increased expenses with holidays and gifts. So we've come up with these fantastic value offers which will put money back in the pockets of our customers."
The MyGig 20 once-off bundle for R499 which provides a saving of 86%, is now available until 9 January 2012 on both Broadband Standard and Broadband Advanced for all contract customers. With an additional 20GB of Night Owl data automatically included, Vodacom contract subscribers get an effective 40GB of data for only R499.
The ‘first three months subscription free' promotion for contract and Top Up customers will include all Broadband Standard and Broadband Advanced contract options. This promotion is now effective and will continue until 6 February 2012.
The Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 contract at R99 per month promotion for new contracts signed in December is immediately available and will run until 9 January 2012. With an automatic additional 500MB of Night Owl data included, Vodacom subscribers get an effective 1GB of data for only R99. The normal price of the Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 is R149 a month, giving customers a 33% discount. The Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 promotion will not qualify for the 3 months free subscription promotion.
"Vodacom once again leads the market with these incredible once off data offers. Exceptional data value is something you have come to expect from Vodacom," Ross concluded.

The ‘3 months' free subscription' and ‘Broadband Standard MyMeg 500' contract promotions will not affect the following:
The runtime of any contracts purchased during the promotion period (it remains 24 months);
Any administration fees with the purchases of a contract as determined by the Service Provider (once-off SIM and connection fee);
The out-of-bundle rates of the specific contract;
Once-off data bundles which will be purchased at usual pricing; and
The monthly Night Owl allocation equal to the monthly in-bundle allocation.

Vodacom notice - Phishing
Vodacom has recently been made aware of some customers receiving fraudulent emails claiming to be from Vodacom and asking for updated contact information. The mails may even look authentic and contain the Vodacom logo and corporate colours.
Note: Vodacom won't ever ask for personal information over email.
These are scams commonly known as 'phishing' and all Vodacom customers should take note of the following before responding to an email from a site asking for personal information.
- Check that the email address and the sender name match.
- Hover over (but do not click) any links to check if the address matches the link that was typed in the message.
- Make sure that the email address or phone number listed in the email is the same as the one that should be on that company's records.
- Does the message start with a generic greeting, like "Dear customer." Most legitimate companies will include the recipient's name in their messages
If you suspect a phishing mail, contact our customer care by dialing 111 from your Vodacom handset. Alternatively, send us an email by completing the Scams & Hoax form.
