Vodacom helps broaden blood outreach in three more provinces

Three state-of-the-art mobile blood collection clinics that will reach blood donors in underserved and remote communities of KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Northern Cape were today handed over to the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) by the Vodacom Foundation. The clinics will enable SANBS to extend its services to areas in these Provinces that it has previously not been able to access.

Vodacom today made a contribution towards addressing the library shortage experienced by many South African schools when it handed over a mobile library to the Mokwena Primary School, Thaba Nchu. This is just one of sixty such libraries that were provided to schools through the help of the Vodacom Foundation.

Eye care services for rural KZN a step closer

The opportunity for people living in remote rural areas in KwaZulu/Natal to receive treatment for visual impairments is a step closer today, following the formal handover by the Vodacom Foundation of a mobile eye care clinic to the province's Department of Health.
