Vodacom Lesotho welcomes new shareholder
Thursday, 30 November 2000 The Privatisation Unit of Lesotho and the Sekha-Metsi Consortium Ltd yesterday signed a Sale of Shares Agreement resulting in the latter gaining a 12% shareholding in Vodacom Lesotho (Pty) Ltd.
Vodacom to acquire Teljoy
Wednesday, 18 October 2000 In a deal worth R870 million, leading cellular network operator, Vodacom, has made a cash offer to acquire the entire issued share capital of Teljoy Holdings, one of South Africa's major cellular service providers, for 750c per share. Funding for the acquisition is through an asset-backed funding arrangement with Rand Merchant Bank.

Wednesday, 1 March 2000 Vodacom announced today the consolidation of its various service provider companies into a single company as well as several new senior appointments.
Competition Commission makes positive decision
Thursday, 27 January 2000 The Competition Commission has approved the acquisition by Vodacom Group (Pty) Ltd of Teljoy Holdings Ltd, as well as the 50% of GSM Cellular that it does not already own.
