Funding Guidelines

Who qualifies:

		Registered Non-Government Organisations (NGO's)
		Other Registered Non-Profit Organisations (NPO's)
		Registered Community Based Organisations (CBO's)
		Public Benefit Organisations (PBO's)

Who does not qualify:

		Other Foundations and Trusts as direct beneficiaries
		Organisations that are insolvent or those who cannot produce acceptable audited financial statements
		Political and Religious Organisations as direct beneficiaries
		Commercial entities

Criteria for funding:

		Involving the use of technology for social development
		Show Evidence of sustainability
		Have Potential for multi-partner collaboration
		Where minimum inputs lead to maximum outputs
		Fit with currently funded projects is evident

The following project categories indicate projects that have been funded in the past:

Education

		Equipment / mobile infrastructure
		Training eg. bursaries / scholarships
		e-Education
		Content eg. maths / science, literacy etc.
		Teacher enrichment programmes

Health

		Equipment / mobile infrastructure
		Corrective surgery
		eHealth

Security

		Women and child abuse
		Anti-crime initiatives

Exclusions from Vodacom Foundation funding:

		Operational or administration costs of organisations
		Set up costs
		Sports sponsorships, including golf days, beauty pageants, raffles etc.
		Competitions, functions etc.
		Sponsorship of venues, conferences, shows, exhibitions and related occasions
		Television shows and production costs
		Overseas studies and travel
		Purchase of tables at dinners and other fundraising events
