What We Do

Since the Vodacom Foundation was established in 1999, it has built schools and libraries, and gave tertiary-level bursaries to more than 900 students. It has brought healing to children with heart conditions and facial imperfections, given sight back to elderly people, and brought hope to those with HIV/Aids. It has funded clinics for abused children, and supported nutritional projects. The list of how it has made life better for so many people is huge and varied.

26 February 2009 was a red-letter day for Vodacom staff as they joined fellow Vodafone staff around the world to celebrate their pride in their companies' efforts to uplift communities. The occasion was the first ever Vodacom Foundation Day. Activities on that day included establishing Vegitunnels throughout South Africa, and planting over 150 trees.

On 6 March 2009 - Vodacom staff took part in the annual Shavathon for CANSA.

Vodacom Foundation's primary areas of involvement are Education, Health and Security. The Vodacom Foundation is proud of the milestones it achieved in these areas for the past 10 years.
