HEALTH

  • Invested R88 million in health related projects over the past 10 years
  • 465 children with facial anomalies received surgery through the Smile Foundation and Netcare
  • 69 children received life-saving heart surgery through Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa
  • 4 500 cataract operations through Pretoria Eye Institute, Netcare and SA National Council for the Blind
  • 4 200 wheelchairs for disabled children through a partnership with Game
  • R20 million for HIV/Aids through the sales of Vodacom 46664 starter packs
  • R8 million for loveLife, an HIV prevention programme for youth
  • 3 Mobile blood collection clinics and 3 mobile health clinics and a patient bus in the Eastern Cape
  • R 6,4 million invested in Cell-Life for technology-based solution for the management of HIV/Aids

EDUCATION

  • R158 million invested in various education focused projects
  • More than 1 000 bursaries for tertiary education
  • 5 schools funded and build in partnership with the Government
  • 150 new computer centres in public schools
  • 405 e-libraries in schools
  • 2 000 perpetrators received functional literacy through Readucate

EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING

  • 2 046 registered employee volunteers
  • 269 Yebo Heroes projects completed in 4 years
  • 1 234 Vodacom employees donate R50 000 per month from their salaries
  • R1.3 million given to beneficiary organisations through Payroll Giving

SAFETY AND SECURITY

  • 3 Kidz Clinics funded that care for abused children
  • R18 million invested in Alexandra Police Station and the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court
  • R2.6 million towards Nonceba Family Counselling Centre and Ikhaya Lethemba, both shelters for abused women and children
  • 7 Sexual Offences Courts established to help fight scourge of rape
  • 4 Thuthuzela Care Centres funded that provide care for rape survivors
