Johan joined Vodacom in December 2010 as the Chief Officer International Business and a member of Vodacom Group Executive Committee. He held a number of senior positions including that of Director Internet, Manager Finance and Project Director at Telia from 1995 to 1999. Johan later joined Nextra as Director International Business Development and held this position from 1999 to 2000. Johan took over as CFO at Telenor Sweden in 2000 to 2004, where he also served as deputy CEO. From 2004 to 2006, he was the CFO at Digi Telecommunications and then Chief Marketing Officer from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, he was appointed the CEO of Digi Telecommunications, the position he held until 2010.
